A regular for the national side since 2017, he has become one of the bright young talents in the West Indian team. Given that he has already played 45 ODIs, 53 T20s and 16 test matches, Hetmyer maybe just 23 but he has quite a pedigree at the absolute top level.
The upcoming season will be Shimron Hetmyer’s second season in the Indian Premier League. Last season, he was at the centre of quite a bidding race as five clubs went to war for his services. But in the end, RCB landed him with a cool 4.2 crores. In spite of not having the greatest of seasons, the performances that followed saw him go for an even higher price in this season’s auction. Hetmyer will be belting sixes for the Delhi Capitals who paid an eye-watering 7.75 crores for him. Big things will be expected of this young man.
