Melbourne Renegades – Make Way for the Champions

The Big Bash League is an action-packed Australian professional T-20 cricket league started by Cricket Australia. Its first instalment was in 2011 and it has been going strong ever since, gaining widespread popularity. The tournament follows a round-robin and knockout format, with eight city-based teams taking part in it. KFC (Kentucky Fried Chicken) has sponsored the title ever since the inception of the BBL.

The Melbourne Renegades, among others, are a consistent performer in the Big Bash League. They were the semi-finalists in season two and seven of the BBL, and have received increasing support with every season.

  5. Tom Cooper took 31 catches, the highest by any Melbourne Renegades fielder. He took six catches in the December 2017-18 season of the BBL, the highest by an MR player in a single inning. He ended up repeating the feat in the next season too.
  6. The Melbourne Renegades captain, Aaron Finch, is a player with a reputation. He is one of the most talented limited-overs player and the only one to have scored a century for the team. He has twice scored more than 150 runs in a single match.
  7. Cameron Boyce, leg-spinner extraordinaire gave stellar performances in season eight, achieving an economy rate of 6.44
  8. All-rounder Dan Christian of the Melbourne Renegades scored 216 runs at a strike rate of 153.19 during BBL 7 and even took 11 wickets.
