Cricket Players

Cricket has been around for over two centuries. Although the style of play, rules and forms have changed over the years, the one common aspect has been the love for the sport. As the length of the game got shorter and shorter from the classic test matches to the exciting T20s, we have seen cricketing greats grace the 22 yards of the cricket ground. From the likes of Don Bradman to Viv Richards and Kapil Dev to Imran Khan, these heroes spearheaded the previous generation of cricket players. The different forms of the game today require different sets of skills. While test cricket is a test of endurance and perseverance, T20 is about fast-paced, exciting cricket.

Indian Cricket Players:

Indians love cricket -- there are no two ways about this, and rightly so. Over the past 73 years, India has had a conveyor belt of talented cricketers pulling on the blue of India. Starting from Mansoor Ali Khan Pataudi in the ’70s to Kapil Dev and Sunil Gavaskar in the ‘80s, India has always fielded a formidable team and on multiple occasions, been ranked the best in the world. Arguably the greatest man to ever play cricket, Sachin Tendulkar grew up on the streets of Mumbai and went on to score an astonishing 100 centuries.

No one will ever forget Mahendra Singh Dhoni’s World-Cup-winning six at the Wankhede. The current crop of Indian cricketers includes some of the best players in the world. Virat Kohli, India’s captain is the no. 1 ranked batsman in ODI and Test cricket. Rohit Sharma holds the record for the most number of double centuries in ODI history. Jasprit Bumrah is the no 1 ranked ODI bowler. India’s U-19 team is also the current World Cup holder showing that India’s dominance in this sport is here to stay.
