Every cricket fan knows a good player when they see one and Ishan Kishan is no exception. All of 20 years of age, the wicket-keeping left-handed batsman debuted for Jharkhand against Orissa when he was only 15 years old. Although he made a mark with an above-average 60 runs in his very first innings, his score of 87 runs in just 69 balls in a later Ranji Trophy match against Saurashtra brought him widespread recognition. He went on to lead the U-19 cricket team for the 2016 World Cup, with India coming in as runners-up in the series.
Ishan Kishan is originally from Bihar – due to challenges with registration with the Bihar Cricket Association as well as the BCCI, he debuted as part of the Jharkhand team. He is a huge fan of Adam Gilchrist and MS Dhoni, considering them as his greatest sources of cricketing inspiration. Although he was part of the Gujarat Lions from 2016 to 2017, the Mumbai Indians got him onboard their team in 2018.
