Past performance of Guyana Amazon Warriors in the caribbean premier league

Guyana Amazon Warriors has been a consistent team right from season 1. They have made as many as 5 finals but are yet to win a single title. They have always done well in the group stages, making the top 4 every year, but have choked in the crucial moments. This has been their final standing in the last 9 years of the cpl t20 series

Key players of Guyana Amazon Warriors

Captain Nicholas Pooran, the highest run-getter for the franchise last season with 263 runs, is a crucial player and probably their most important player. He is a complete cricketer, and his ability to be aggressive from ball 1 is unparalleled. He will hold the key to the middle order of Guyana.
His West Indies teammate, the franchiser's second-highest run-getter last season Shimron Hetmyer will be equally important. If Pooran and Hetmyer can find some form, they will form an enviable partnership. Both of them can take on all kinds of bowling and will be instrumental in taking the team to a high score every game.
On the bowling front, Odean Smith and Romario Shepherd, who were the joint second highest wicket-takers last year with 18 apiece, will be critical to Guyana's bowling exploits. Both the players bowl a heavy ball and searing yorkers towards the end. Their pace is also complemented by their ability to strike a long ball. Both of them are complete all-rounders, and Guyana will rely on them to take care of the death bowling and batting.
Like every year, Guyana will go into 2022, being one of the favourites. A lot of their local talent would have gotten international and IPL experience before the 2022 season. With all the talent and firepower they possess, expect them to make the top 4 again. Whether they can go the extra distance and lift the trophy in the 10th season is anybody's guess.
