The Maharashtra Cricket Board has recently introduced the Maharashtra Premier League (MPL), a T20 tournament scheduled to take place in June. Following the model of the Indian Premier League (IPL), this tournament aims to provide thrilling matches, engage passionate fans, and serve as a platform for emerging cricketers.

A total of six players have been selected as icon players for this tournament namely Ruturaj Gaikwad, Kedar Jadhav, Rahul Tripathi, Rajvardhan Hangargekar, Azim Kazi, and Vicky Ostwal. The Maharashtra Fantasy League will be telecasted on DD Sports for free.

The current edition of the Maharashtra Premier League (MPL) began on 15th June 2023, marking the first season of this tournament. The opening match will witness a thrilling encounter between Puneri Bappa and Kolhapur Tuskers at the Gahunje Stadium in Pune. The grand finale of the tournament is set to take place on 30th June 2023.

In the 2023 MPL edition, a total of six teams representing different regions of Maharashtra will compete for the championship, engaging in 12 league-stage games followed by four playoff matches. The playoff matches will help decide the final winner of the MPL Fantasy tournament.
