Mumbai Indians are undoubtedly the most successful IPL team. They have won five IPL titles. For all their star power, Mumbai won their first title only in 2013 in the 6th IPL season. They went on to win four more IPL titles in the year 2015, 2017, and 2019. Mumbai's last IPL final win came over the Delhi Capitals in the year 2020. While they had a tough season in 2022, as they stood in the 10th position, they made a strong comeback in 2023 to finish third on the table.

2020-21

Delhi had an excellent start to the 2020 season. They were dominating the opposition in every game. But they strangely fell short every time they came up against Mumbai. Mumbai thereby completed a 5-match winning streak over Delhi.

Their previous season's encounter was a tightly contested affair. Both team captains delivered contrasting performances, but it was Rohit Sharma's inning that proved to be the decisive factor, guiding Mumbai Indians to much deserved victory.
